A teen idol with One True Voice who had his heart set on stardom since he was a toddler.
Jamie's dream became reality after his success on the TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals - but it wasn't his first brush with fame.
He showed he was destined for stardom when he appeared on BBC Wales TV as a 14-year-old (left). Jamie sang live during coverage of the 1999 Children In Need appeal and was later interviewed about his ambitions. His chance came in autumn 2002 with Popstars: The Rivals in which ten winners - five male, five female - were chosen to form rival bands.
But with the release of the debut single - Sacred Trust/After You're Gone - One True Voice were beaten to the Number One spot by Girls Aloud.
They failed to keep pace with their rivals and following months of rumour and denial the boys finally went their separate ways in autumn 2003.
It remains to be seen whether Jamie will fare better than fellow Welsh singer Noel Sullivan, currently building a solo career after the demise of original Popstars group Hear'Say.
